Walk into red-folder news with a plan.
A normal calendar tells you when CPI is out. The Desk also tells you which of your trades it touches, warns you 30 minutes before it lands, and reads the print against the forecast straight after, so you know whether to hold, protect or stand aside.

The problem: the calendar shows the forecast, not what to do
Every trader has had it happen. A clean trade, a sensible stop, and then a release you forgot about rips straight through the stop on a spread spike. The calendar was right there. It just did not say "this one is about your trade".
What the Desk adds to the calendar
The high-impact calendar · how it reads
14:30USDCPI y/yfcstHIGH
14:30USDCore CPI m/mfcstHIGH
20:00USDFOMC minutes-HIGH
- It knows your trades. If a release is on a currency or market you follow, it is flagged as yours, not just as "high impact".
- A reminder 30 minutes before. By push and email, with the forecast and the previous print, and a plain note on what it does to spreads.
- After the print, the read. Actual against forecast, and how far the market moved in the first hour, so you are not guessing what just happened.
- Rate decisions and big moves. Central bank days are flagged in advance, and when a market moves 3% or more in a session you hear about it.
The rule I trade news by
I do not try to trade the print. The first minutes after a red-folder release are a coin toss with a wide spread. What I do is make sure every open trade has a stop that can survive the spike, or I take the trade off before the release. The Desk's job is to make sure that decision happens before the number lands, not after.

FAQ
Which releases count as red-folder?
The high-impact ones: inflation, jobs, GDP, retail sales, central bank decisions and the key PMIs, for the major currencies.
Do I get every release?
Only if you want them. By default you get the ones on the currencies and markets you follow.
Does it tell me to trade the news?
No. It tells you what is coming and what it did, so you can protect the trades you already have. Trading the first minutes of a release is not part of our method.
