Verified Investing Smart Money vs the Trade Desk: alerts, price and the record

The Trade Desk publishes every trade, losers included, graded in R: 133 closed trades since 14 Nov 2025, 71 of them losers, every one published with its entry, stop and exit: +46.2R in total, profit factor 1.70. Verified Investing’s Smart Money: Stocks & ETFs sends Gareth Soloway’s swing trades as he makes them, for $150 a month, and shows them as dollar P&L on a $1,000,000 account. One is a weekly plan you act on; the other is a portfolio you mirror.

The record first

Every closed Trade Desk trade is listed on the track record with the entry, stop and target it was published with, the dates, the outcome and the result in R. The worst single loss is −1.03R. The win rate is 44%, which is low on its own, and the record is positive because the winners average close to +2R while the losers are held near −1R. Every loss, published goes through the losing side trade by trade.

What Smart Money sends

Verified Investing’s trade alerts page (checked 20 Oct 2026) lists Smart Money: Stocks & ETFs by Gareth Soloway, with entry and exit prices for swing trades in stocks and ETFs, portfolio allocation guidance, trade notifications and daily and weekly videos. Crypto and commodities are separate Smart Money services, listed from $85 and from $100.

The Stocks & ETFs product page says the alerts come from a $1,000,000 swing trading account Gareth opened in 2026, sent by app and email when he trades, with the share size, cost basis and real-time P&L shown, and a Closed Positions ledger of every trade. It is priced at $150 charged every month, or $396 every three months.

What the Trade Desk sends

A plan before the week opens rather than a portfolio to follow: on Sunday the board lists the setups in stocks, forex, gold and crypto with an entry, a stop and a target each, and the Desk watches those levels every 10 minutes and alerts by push and email when one hits. You decide before Monday which ones you will take and how much you will risk on each.

Dollars or R

A dollar P&L on a seven-figure account is real money and easy to read, but it mixes the size of each position into the result. R takes the size out: a trade that lost exactly what was planned reads −1R whatever the account was. If you are sizing your own trades from a smaller account, the R record is the one you can apply directly. Read what an R-multiple is for the arithmetic.

FAQ

What is a good Verified Investing alternative?

If you want the stop before the trade and a record graded against it, the Trade Desk publishes a weekly plan with entry, stop and target, and keeps every closed trade, losers included, on a public record in R.

How much is Verified Investing Smart Money compared with the Trade Desk?

Smart Money: Stocks & ETFs is $150 charged every month, or $396 every three months, on its product page (checked 20 Oct 2026); crypto and commodities are separate Smart Money services. The Trade Desk is $29 a month, or $199 a year with 20% off the annual, and one price covers every market it trades.

Does the Trade Desk cover crypto and commodities too?

Yes. The same subscription covers large-cap US stocks, forex, gold and other metals, and major crypto.

Why grade in R instead of dollars?

A dollar result depends on how big the account and the position were. R measures each trade against the risk planned for it, so you can apply the record to whatever you risk per trade.
